I have done some sheet metal welding but I decided to try .023 wire for the first time. I have always used .025 and .030 and never had an issue. Like the title says I occasionally get burn back when starting the arc, its like the wire just vaporizes to the tip as the arc starts. After some thinking I think I may try cranking up the run in speed to see if that helps. I'll let you know how it works. If anyone has any suggestions feel free to give me some tips.

Amperage set right?

Wire feed too slow, wire feed erratic (you might need to adjust your feed roller for the thinner wire), bad ground, or the wrong tip stick-out.
