Bush Hog 2815 price check...

Hi guys.

I need an additional batwing and am thinking about a Bush Hog this time because I like some of the features on them compared to the Deere that I have now.

2815 with deck rings, baffle kit, double chains, foam filled tires = $26,000 MSRP (approximately).

The quote I've gotten so far is $18,850, or about 27.5% off of MSRP.

Is this a good price? I don't know what you should typically expect off of a Bush Hog.

I bought a new 2815 (3)months ago. Equipped with deck rings, single chains and aircraft tires - $15,900.

Don’t know what Deere you have but we like our mx15. Was about 12,750 or so at the beginning of the year. If I had to do it over again I’d prolly get the hx15 though for the suspension. Only mowed 200acres of so but it’s great. Real nice cut

I always do some price checking on tractorhouse.com to see where the prices are.....according to it $15.9k coolnature paid was very good, below average. $18.9k is a little on the higher side. Looks like the $17s are the standard good dealer price.

Just one quick way to gauge pricing. (It's how I bought my Massey). I didn't request the lowest price I could find, but I made sure I liked the dealer and their final price was in the "great deal" side of the bell curve.

Update: I got a second quote from a high volume dealer that was a few more percentage points off of list price. My local dealer (who I got the original quote from) eventually price matched the other dealer after talking with his rep.

I added the dual wing tires option, so total came out to a quote of $18,300, list is $25,996. That's exactly 30% off of list. I think the best price I saw on tractorhouse was around 32% off, so I figure it's a pretty deal.

I bought one fall of ‘17. I use it to mow pasture and for light brush cutting. Cuts good but will windrow tall, thick grass and I don’t have the optional kit that helps prevent wind rowing . I chose the 2815 over the JD HX15 because IMO it was heavier built at the rear axles, has a little higher blade tip speed and I like the perma level hitch.
I think all the big players (Schulte, Rhino, Woods, Land Pride, JD, Bush Hog) make good mowers and you would probably be well satisfied with one of those manufacturers.

I’m with you on the BH 2815 features & quality

They are very heavy built.
I’d like to see how the new JD R15 performs ...

I've had the 2815 for two seasons now.

I like it, not sure if I like it better than the HX15, but they're pretty close.

Cut quality/windowing is about the same with both. Maybe slightly better with the 2815, but too tough to call.

Maintenance is easier on the 2815 by far. All of the driveline grease fittings are located on the endcaps instead of in the middle of the UV joints. Takes a 1/3 of the time to grease than HX15 drivelines. All of the gearboxes (except the splitterbox) have the oil sight glasses, no having to manually open the plugs to check them.

I like that the 2815 came standard with lighting kit (have to transport mine a lot).

I do prefer the jackstand setup on the HX15, where you don't have to use a manual jack and can use the jack that swings down from the tongue and use the hydraulics to lift it.
