Hi Yall, last year this unit worked flawlessly, LS4046, backhoe PTO driven, worked beautifully, did it's work and parked. So 3 balled up trees come home today, fire up the tractor....and no power on the down stroke, last year it would jostle the tractor around, today ..just goes down by weight, all else seem good.....these mystery's drive me nuts, i understand damage and visible obvious issues, but this one?...please any experience here ?

I’m not familiar with a bush hog 750. Is that a 3 point hoe with a separate PTO pump?
It sounds like the flow is reversed to the hoe.

My hoe came with my tractor and connects to the rear SCVs. If the handle in the cab is put into the wrong detent, the hoe gets flow, and some things work and others don’t. I now have the hoses marked so everything goes back together the same way every time and the handle gets moved the same direction to enable the hydraulics to the hoe.

The Bushhog site does not show your model so it is obviously an older design. As I understand your description, the backhoe is completely independent of the tractor hydraulics which make things much simpler. Your description needs to be more complete. What works and what does not. The stabilizers have no down pressure ? The hoe has no down pressure?

If you have the manual and can look for the terms OPEN CENTER then I can offer these comments.

An open center system has continuous hydraulic flow through the backhoe valve.

When you move a control, then the flow is directed into that circuit. If however, another valve is partially open, then the hydraulic flow will take that path back to the reservoir and the circuit you want to pressurize will not have any.

Dave, everything works except the bucket downward pressure Reliably..after some tedious tinkering with the joy stick, it started putting pressure into the ground...my guess..the spool for that circuit needs to be looked at.?
