bush hog for 2015HST Mahindra

I have a 2015HST and I need to get a bush hog for it, will it handle a 5' or should I stay with a 4'? Any feedback will be appreciated.

I have customers who have run 5' rotary cutters on the 2015 HST, and it has worked fine. I think if you are going to be getting into some really heavy brush the 4' may be a better bet. The 4' is Mahindra's recomendation. Good Luck with your choice.

crackercap, I recently purchased a 4' International BH for my CubCadet 7234, basically the same tractor as the gear 2615 Mahindra only in yellow and 3 less HP. I have lots of trees and hilly uneven ground and I felt the 4' would be much easier to maneuver around trees and slopes. Your 2015 is a smaller tractor and although it may pick up and run a 5' on flat terrain I would think that a 4 footer would me much safer and easier on the tractor. My opinion only.

I have to agree with the others. I have a 2015 on the lot (with a woods loader installed) and with the HST. In rough terrain and brush, a 48" cutter would be a good match. Down here, when working heavy cutters, the HST tends to run the oil a bit hot. A smaller cutter would give your HST pump a bit of a break and add to its life.

Just an opinion, I have no solid data on this at this time....
