Box Scraper bush hog mbx box blade

Anybody have any opinions on the MBX series of box blades? The MBX720 is 640 pounds. The Land Pride BB2572 is 550 pounds. Going by other threads, heavier is always better, but I don't see much mentioned about the Bush Hog box blades.

I was looking locally at a light duty woods when I came across a deal on e-bay for the MBX720. The dealer was looking to move this one and I purchased it and had it shiped to me for less then what I was quoted for the light duty woods. It is equiped with a swinging rear blade which really helps it to dig. I also like that it is CAT I and II compatible. I am pleased with mine with the exception of the paint color, the dealer only had blue and I own a Kubota. However paint is cheap. I do want to wear a little of the blue off before I respray it. Hope this helps.

I would say heavier is better. I have seen too any box blades where the scarficiers were pulled right out of their channel. So make sure it is heavy.

I've got the SBX 720 which is lighter duty and Cat I only. However, it is significantly heavier and better built than the low end KK, Howse, etc units. My tractor is at the upper limits of its HP recommendations and I have used it heavily (clay, rocks, stumps, etc) and have had no problems at all.

all that is just to say that Bush Hog makes a good, sturdy BB. You don't mention what size and hp your tractor is but if it is a utility tractor or more than 40 hp then a medium duty blade will probably serve you better and if the price is right, I'd go for it.
