Have a Land Pride 1680 bush hog. It will not cut. It comes on but won稚 build enough rpms to cut anything. I did notice with tractor off and pto engaged the pto shaft will not move but blades will. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Could be a blown shear pin or the slip clutch needs adjustment.

Thanks! Enjoyed it so far. Yeah I have read some stuff about that. Is it possible for it to have a shear pin and slip clutch or do they usually have one or the other.

Generally just one..... Shear pin or a slip clutch....But not both.... Also check the blades and stump jumper are not just spinning on gear box out put shaft because you have loose castle nut and lost cotter pin .... Generally blade and stump jumper are tortures to 400-600 ft-lbs but have been know to come loose.... With all systems off (engine) start tuning shafts and blades and look to see where motion stops, you problem will be really close to where motion stops....

How did you determine blades with turn, but not PTO shaft?

Problem has to be between PTO shaft and blades. Slip clutch? Sheared bolt? Gear box? Output shaft to blade holder? One of these four things has to be it.

And as stated before you will have either a slip clutch or shear bolt, not both. So really only 3 things to check.

Remove the PTO shaft from the tractor. Then put a rod/bar into the U-joint and turn the PTO shaft by hand. See what turns and does not turn. Should make it real easy to determine what's not working!

You didn't say if your Kubota has a switch or a mechanical lever for the PTO.

I had a similar problem with my Deere 4720, the problem was the PTO would slip due to insufficient pressure on the clutch. The valve that operates the clutch had crud in it from a previous repair (Teflon tape.)
