Bush Hog RTN 72 Tiller

Last spring we managed to break the latteral shaft in our Bush Hog RTN 72 tiller. The Latteral shaft is the long shaft that runs from the gear box to the chain drive. We have removed the chain and sprockets, we have also removed the input shaft to the gear box( pto shaft too) now can anyone tell me how I can pull the shaft out of the tiller with out messing up the bearings( there is nothing wrong with them) Thanks

How did it turn out? I'm looking to buy that tiller and would like to know how easy to repair it is. Have you had any other issues?
