Rotary Cutter Bush Hog SQ84T Offset Cutter

Anyone using this mower which is a 7' mower with a 9" offset on one side? I'm looking for a new mower to attach to my TC40A and this was suggested by the dealer when I asked about a 6' cutter for the tractor.

I'm cutting my own fields, some of which are rough and with hills so I was looking at the light duty 6' models which weigh about 650 lbs and this one comes in at about 750 lbs.

Jim,

That's one of the attachments on my wish list. I think the capacity on it was 1", which is more than enough for most of my work. A local dealer stocks them and recommends them as well. They priced it at $2400 several years ago. The things I like are being able to mow close to a fence or obstacle on the offset side without having to drive close to it- and the weight is closer to the tractor than with a wide single spindle. Hope you get it and post followups.

John....the comment about the length is a good point which I have missed before; just checked it and the length is specified at 75 inches which is equal to a 4' cutter length. In the 6' single spindle model you are out 110 inches. With it being short has to help with keeping the front end of the tractor on the ground, which is my concern because I will have the loader off for cutting but can (and will) add 3 100lb weights to the front.

That should be more then enough tractor for that mower. We've had good luck with the bush hog SQ84T and I highly recommend them. The twin rear wheels allow them to ride quite smoothly and they are close to the tractors.
