:D Well this is what happens when you try to press the bearing out of the wrong end!!!! :( My stupidity.. The seal on the blade end looked like it was part of the housing,,, so "I" put it on the press upside down... Oh well ,, live, work and learn. I've pressed out a lot of bearings in my day,, but this is the "first" time this has ever happened to me..

OK!!!! YOU ALL LET ME HAVE IT !!!! GO AHEAD SAY IT!!!! I CAN TAKE IT.....

Hey, nice work! :D

I've certainly broken my share of things that I'm supposed to be fixing.

Don't feel bad. I did almost the same thing repairing my Kubota drive axle. I was trying like mad to pull the bearing off the shaft. I checked an double checked and I was positive I had the direction correct.

I put a larg-ish crescent wrench on the puller and went to town. I shattered one of the links on a 3 ton puller! The bearing sill didn't budge. THAT is when I got suspicious of my thinking capabilities. I did another check and sure enough I was pulling against the bearing seat. It was just a tiny step on the shaft and I didn't see it. I should have mic'd the shaft on both sides of the bearing and I would have known for sure.

Good thing is I think there are plenty of parts available for these tractors. Good luck and keep plowing forward. You're going to whip that tractor into shape in no time!

I think that you need a new one! I would say let him who has NEVER pulled a bone headed maneuver in repairing something to be the first to ridicule--The rest of us just say well that did not work--but we are smarter now and go on. :D

I had to let you all know!!! Because out there is someone that has done something just as stupid. You know guys; when I do something like that I really don't get upset, I just go on and start over. I've learned it dosen't do any good to rant, rave, cuss and throw things. Besides all that could cause you to have a Heart Attack :(

#1. We live and learn from our mistakes. You are alive and you learned from your mistake. Life is Good.

#2. When we make those mistakes we learn not to tell everyone.

and #3. When we learn from those mistakes, we don't always tell others about it so that we can watch them fail too, and then somehow feel better about ourselves.:D
