Love to repair things. Can't stand something to be broken. Working on a weedeater ZAMA carb.
I have taken it apart and found nothing bad,but it will only work with choke half on.????

Look VERY carefully at the inlet fuel lines. Some of these have a tendancy to get soft over time and will swell (shrink) shut restricting the fuel flow. Look inside the tank also. They are submersed in gas and this is frequently where they get mushy or break off.
P.S. I hate working on those little carbs. A spec of dirt and they don't work.
Roy,Thanks for quick reply.I have checked these parts. When you press primer it seems to draw air from inside of carb. Diaphragms are ok. Can any one help? Thanks.
just a dab of seafoam can work wonders sometimes, has for me more than once. Last fall when I started my backpack leaf blower after a year, it didn't want to open up without choke. I finally poured a dab of seafoam in with it running, it instantly killed it. I went and ate dinner, then came back and tried it, started right up and ran fine all fall!
