Every year our Sieva butterbeans outgrow everything we try to run them on. My wife usually starts clipping the runners when they approach the top. If she doesn't it will grow into a jungle. This year, I decided to see just how far they will go. I set a 14 ft cedar post leaving 12 ft for the beans. They've reached the top and are heading back down. Everyone who sees it wants to know what it is and I tell them it's a butterbean tree. The Sieva bean is very prolific.
