Grapple Buy from ebay?

Doesn't look like any problem to me. You can P/U, if you like. He has a 100% feedback rating and has sold over 9500 items. As long as the shipping and price meet your approval, go for it.

Looks pretty light duty but if you are putting it on a small tractor that's what you need. I would not be afraid to order over the internet for something like this. Talk to the guy over the phone plenty to have it built the way you want. I think there are better deals out there but you came to the right place for all the info you will need to make an informed decision!

It looks a bit light but I think it would do well up to 35 hp. The only thing that scares me is the typo's. I guess fabricators don't have to get a degree in English but kabuto is not a kubota.

I like the added tines. Seems like a good option

I have never purchased any implements from EBAY or large scale items, but I have ordered a hitch along with many various other items. There was never a problem. If the seller's feedback is satisfactory, I myself wouldn't hestitate to buy a tractor;etc from EBAY. But I would look for one that was close to my locale, in order that I could check it out and test it personally. Here's wishing you the best and success.:):tractor:

I've never purchased anything from ebay. It sounds risky to me. I mean all you really know is the "user name" and the rating. Not like a store front where you can see who it is, where they are, telephone, etc.

Although one should be skeptical to a degree (especially from private sellers), several tractor/implement auctions are dealers selling new equipment. Not too too much risk there.
There are normally ways to contact the seller...click on their name and look on the left side of the page that opens.

I bought my new Woods backhoe from a seller I found on ebay and it shipped clear across the country with absolutely no hitches.
As for the grapple shown, take a closer look at the photo showing the two pin pockets-those are some nasty looking welds.:(
Being that it is offered in both 48" and 60" versions, that's just way too much of an open area between the two tines. Probably o.k. for packing tree sections but I see brush falling out with every bump on the trail or road. It needs to have at least three or better four tines for that size to be an allround grapple.

I will tell you one thing, "You can't sell 9500 items on eBay, and have a 100% feedback rating, if you screw up or misrepresent very often"! When you are dealing with the public, anything and everything is potential for a problem. ... That includes price, shipping rates and time, color variance, no reply to their emails and the list goes on.

It wouldn't hurt to write him and ask any particular questions, you have, about the product, but I'd bet, it will be nearly an exact replica of the posted pictures and description.

Their location is generally described in the auction, as well as their phone number being included in the description. About the only other thing, which they could do, would be, to deliver it for an inspection before purchase. Good luck with that.

"They" could say who "they" are. I could sell things with an address and cell phone number too.

I'm going to call that cell phone number and see what he can tell me.

Thanks... I actually thought it was a bit heavy for a CUT at 447 lbs (on the 60") I've seen some that are just over 300 lbs (ANBO, Worksaver).

You can do MUCH better than that. I recently bought my 48" grapple from WILDKAT ATTACHMENTS - Grapples. Call them and price the econo grapples.

I am quite satisfied with mine so far.

I was going to say the same thing. As far as Ebay goes though, I've done a lot of transactions through them. It's safe so long as the feedback is good. Just make sure of what you're getting. If you're not sure about something, ask.

Looks like a good deal but it seems risky buying something like this from ebay.

Thoughts? Anyone have experience buying from ebay?

48 or 60 SKID STEER/COMPACT TRACTOR LOADER GRAPPLE ROOT RAKE kabuta, new holland | eBay

I buy a lot of stuff from eBay, including an $11K 2004 Isuzu NPR/EFI stakebed truck. Never had any problems with eBay, with the sellers I bought from, or with PayPal. That truck was local so I was able to check it out thoroughly before purchase.

Check on eBay contingency purchases. High ticket items like cars and trucks are sold on a contingency basis, the contingency being that the item checks out satisfactorily in the Buyer's eyes. IIRC the contingency period is 30 days for vehicles. Also check on the return policy, especially on who pays the freight cost on a return.

To be clear, I didn't buy my grapple through eBay, I merely located it there, then bought it directly from WildKat.

I have bought everything from $2 fuel lines to a $3,000 boat on ebay. I have had a few problems but i pay with paypal, a stand-alone, ebay owned company. It backs a buyer with protection. If your scammed they give the seller a chance to explain his side and if he dont fix it they make you right! I have been reimbursed for SD memory cards that never came and the seller was deleted for unkown reasons after my transaction, then i found out he was in like Hong Kong! Took several weeks but i had my money back. The good thing is all that seller sees is a deposit in his account from paypal, he never gets my card or account number. Ebay is linked to my credit card and is a great company. I had issues with the fuel hose from a seller as it was after market. It leaked, i contacted him, he sent another, it too leaked. The seal in the chainsaw tank was not tight so it sloshed out. I asked him for a refund he gave it to me and i sent his fuel lines back on my dime as he was more than fair in the process ( and it cost less than $2).

I would buy and not worry esp if you pay through paypal. If you get it and its mis-represented you can return it with paypal backing for a full refund. I mean if the guy says "professionaly welded" with 1/2" steel and you get it and the welds are porus and with 3/8 steel he did not represent his product fairly and your entitled to a full refund and he has to ship it back as well. They will make it right!

Like Mike said... eBay is great... I've bought a lot of skid steer attachments, large equipment, bid over $50k on items... you just have to pay attention to what you are doing... same as anytime you are looking at anything.. KennyV
