Hey guys quick question here .... someone is selling an 06 (garage kept) Kubota L3400 Hydro about 3 hours from me.

It has the backhoe and ag tires.

It's essentially the perfect tractor IMO however it's 13 years old. He has 275hrs on it and is asking 21k.

Is there any potential downside to buying it given it's age?

Some of my concerns would be the coolant/hyrdo hoses, tires dry rotting, etc ... anything else that could deteriorate or dry rot over 13 years.

Otherwise I personally wouldn't have any issues with it, also I like that it's pre-emissions.

Help is appreciated thank you in advance.

If it has a backhoe or a lot of implements than maybe but that’s more than it costs new and about equal to a new one today. Personally I’d buy a used Grand series. They’re much better tractors.

it has a backhoe.

The problem i'm running into shopping used its finding tractors with backhoes with lower hours and $20k or under is hard. Also with specific HP range .. i would like 30-35hp

Whats one cost new? That seems a little high based on its age, not the hours. If it was store inside, it might be in good shape.

Check the unit out but tires and hoses are probably still fine. Tires should be good for thirty or forty years and hydraulic hoses may go longer than that.

Anything in the new range that has 35 hp with a backhoe is like $35k+ .... anything around 30hp w/ hoe is around $30k.

I really like pre emissions

Sounds like you did your research on new for that size. Under 300 hours is a barn find in my opinion if it's not beat up. I had an L3400 and it was a workhorse. They are great tractors.

If you buy it ask and make sure your getting the 3 point arm etc set up with it . Sometimes buyers forget till they take b-hoe off to put attachments on .

Unless you are a devout tree hugger, there is no reason to like emissions diesels.
