So after many months of research, test-drives, and 5 different dealers... I decided on the T503. I started looking at Mahindras (I had a neighbor that swore by them, I drove his, loved it), I found that TYM makes Mahindras... So Then I looked at TYM. Different motor, different nose cowl, the rest of the tractor is mostly the same. When looking at the 43-50-60 HP models, I found an HST in a 60 Mahindra, but not in a TYM. The 50hp TYM had the extra rear remote, rear wiper, 3rd function joystick switch, draft, slightly higher HP motor, (Perkins/Cat), Auto/Manual PTO, and a much improved A/C system. A few nice-to-have upgrades on the TYM, then I saw the new Cabellas tractors. Exact duplicates of the TYM 43 - 50 HP units, except in green, and $2500 higher. The FEL on the Cabellas is slightly nicer, but not $2500 nicer.
So it was down to a 50 or a 60 HP unit, Mahindra, TYM or Cabellas.. Cabellas did not offer a 60hp unit, the 60hp unit from Mahindra is nice, but not worth the extra $3000 over the 50hp for the HST Cab. (Plus it didn't have the rear wiper, 2nd rear remote, draft, 3rd function joystick button, and auto/manual PTO select switch).
I decided on the TYM... Same 5 year warranty, Top performance in bucket ratings, very decent pto HP, excellent lift capability on the 3-pt, ergonomic joy in the cabin, and doing bucket-work is a snap with the hst. The problem is that the 2014 Stage III units are in short supply.. Mine is being shipped from Wisconsin (to Kansas City), and is due in a week or so. (and we're waiting for the arrival of our new baby with total breathlessness). I'm going to outfit it with empty tires, an 72" finish mower, 72" tiller, and finally tackle the acre of lawn to obey. (Yes, it's just slightly under an acre, which is 15HP lawn-boy size).. This might be a bit of over-kill. It should be required to have A/C whenever mowing grass in Missouri. I'll post pictures when it gets delivered.
