Kubota m7060
New to the Forum, Hello everyone...

I've made up my mind to buy an m7060. In my best estimation, someone can save between $5,000 & $10,000 buying used. Seems tractorhouse.com is pretty popular. I was hoping some here would have suggestions for someone fairly new to tractors. I am purchasing a tractor to handle several chores, mostly loader work but I also inherited some land recently and want to manage about 2 acres of row crop on it as well as some cattle.

I have been looking on facebook and tractorhouse trying to scoop up a deal but Kubota tractors seem to hold their value well and prices have been very competitive even in the used market.

My initial impression is that is a large tractor for 2 acres and some cattle, but maybe I’m misunderstanding or your planning on acquiring more land.
Kubota makes a solid tractor. You won’t regret the choice.
I started my hay business with an M7040 and baled about 100 acres of hay on 4 or 5 separate parcels. It was did the job, but was somewhat overworked and I upsized to an M126x.
M7040 is IMO a better unit because it has no DPF

They do hold their value. Keep in mind there are 8x8 and 12x12 trans M7060, the 12 speed is a more expensive tractor so make you compare new/used accordingly. An open station 8x8 M7060 is a considerable savings over a 12x12 cab model.

I recommend a cab for most places in TX. Where is the place? Dust, bugs, heat. You will find the prices of used Kubota very competitive with new. Most new have 0% financing, which you will not get on used, so you need to have the cash on hand to make the used purchase worth it. Equally important is patience and resolve. It may take you quite some time to find a good, well maintained used machine to your liking. Be patient. Call a bunch of dealerships (not just Kubota) around your area to see if they have one. Check Tractorhouse as you mentioned (but the prices published are sometimes bait to get you to call them....be prepared.

It would seem to me that on two acres with a M7060 - you will be going round & round all your life. Do you really need that big a tractor? Smaller could equal - brand new, cabbed, extra implements.

Make a list of what you actually will be doing. What is the most "power necessary" job. This should be an indication of your needs.

However - if it's just that you WANT an M7060 - then, by all means, GO for it.

Another thought - the Kubota M7060 will need Class 2 implements. A 35 to 45 hp tractor will use Class 1 implements. There is a SIGNIFICANT price difference between Class 1 & Class 2.

I'm running lots of Cat 1 implements on an M7040SU fine, all the bushings came with the tractor when new so the pins are all tight. Every implement on the place is Cat 1, or Cat 1/2
