Tractor
2000 ford/ bushhog loader, 3203 john deere, 5035 mahindra ML130 FEL
First post.
I would like some advice from some one that has experiece in both new holand and mahindra. I have owned a ford 2000 with a bush hog front end loder for seven years. I am to the point where I have most of the clearing and heavy work done. This has been a great tractor for what I needed, But now I want to down size. the mahindra 2815 is $16,720 with a FEL.
where as the new holland TC34DA is 21,000 with FEL. is the New Holland worth $4280 more than the mahinda ?
there may be future cleanup form hurricanes and bush hogging but that's about it.

Richard, shop around. Landmark Equipment in McKinney, Tx is offering right now the Mahindra 3525 w/ ML230 loader:List = $16,845.00Sale = $14,695. It's a lot more tractor for less money. Call the dealers around you and see if any are offering the same deal. I am on the road and don't have the ad with me b8ut there was other offers as well.

don't let the lower price of a mahindra scare ya. you get a lot of tractor for a lot less money then the bigger names. test them both out and see which one feels better to you. i have no cmplaints about my mahindra 4110, and recommend a mahindra to anyone. good luck on your decision!

In my opinion YES. Someday you will want to sell it. I'll bet you a dollar to a doughnut that you'll more than make up the cost difference in resale. But, don't take my word for it. Go to a tractor auction (we have one here in NE Texas) and see for yourself. You will be shocked at the prices brand X tractors go for.

--------------2007------------------------- 2012

Mahindra--- $16720.00 -------------------- $11,720.00

New Holland $21000.00 -------------------- $16,000.00

Difference $4,280.00 ----------------------$4,280.00

When would you rather have that $4280.00 ? Today :) or 2012 :(
As far as the brand, the performance of my Mahindra 4110 has exceeded my expectations. Good luck with whatever Brand you buy

This may be true, but what if he wants/needs less tractor w/ 4wd? The 3525 is an older style, 2wd model. I'd buy the 32 or 2815 first, but I would need the 4wd....

I have a 2815 HST with FEL and really enjoy the tractor for doing the work I needed done on my 6 acres, no complaints after 12 hours.. Now if your comparing the Mahindra series then I think you should be looking at the 3215 for equal horsepower rating between it and the TC34DA.
Having a bad ankle, I liked the way the 15 series has the HST foot pedal setup compared to other compact tractors.
Also the way I look at it, take the $4280 and put into an IRA, your buying a tractor for what sounds like light work and the 15 series seems to very well build. You have one build in Japan and the I believe the other in France, check the New Holland threads for the TC34 problems. This may help with you choice.

I have a Mahindra 3215HST and I was wanting the 2810 HST when I purchased it. I will tell you I had doubts and concerns and read every post coming and going. Now after owning one for about 5 months I can say it far exceeds every tractor we had before. I have a 7 foot flail mower that my 3215HST handles with ease. I my greatly impressed with it's ability. I've owned several Kubotas and have never as happy with them as I have been with the Mahindra 3215HST...I know alot of people here don't like the HST however; my wife uses it with ease and I've became fond of it as well, and there are no noticable power loss. I also have an older 7 foot tiller, a 7 foot bushhog and thought I'd have to replace them with 6 foot pieces but the 3215 handles it with all the ease and comfort of a larger tractor.

I would Highly recommend the 28 and 3215 series to anyone..

Richard,
As a fellow Ford tractor owner too, I have a 4110 model with about 300 hours. I have been following this forum for about 3-4 years. Everyone has there opinion of different brands, and mine is of course a little different that others here regarding Mahindra. Some folks have great opinions of this brand, but many times they only have 100 hours or LESS on the unit. After 300 hours, I wish I would have bought something else that is made better. Maybe all brands are cheaply made these days, but if that is so, I don't think Mahindra is any different. Every time I use this tractor, something breaks off or acts up. The 4110 in particular has a list of aggravating problems like stuck solenoids, and loose engine bolts. The posts from the experiences from the user Skipmarcy has had with his Mahindra would be enough to scare off any normal person from this brand in my opinion.
My advice... shop around brands, drive the different units, take a close look at the dealer. Make sure the dealer is a tractor dealer and not someone that was expanding his "consignment" lot or his utility trailer business. Try not to focus on price alone That is the mistake I made. I was only thinking price and HP.

Mahindra is a growing brand name in the US. You might just find yourself in the same boat as those folks who bought those ugly orange tractors when everyone was saying the resale wasn't there.
I have the Mahindra 6000 4x4 and almost 600 hours on it. I have had a couple minor things wrong with my tractor, but I think every brand will have some tractors that have a few problems. I have not been easy on this tractor. I work it almost every day.
As to should you buy one brand over another, that's a personal preference. My advice is look seriously at the Mahindra 15 series. The biggest thing is to find a dealer whom you can have a good relationship with. I'm sure New Holland makes some nice tractors I just couldn't deal with the local dealer.
I think you will find that the folks who have had major problems with their Mahindra are few and far between, but there are a few.
