Shibaura 2803T
I'm thinking of buying the Shibaura 2803T in my eariler post. I would be interested in hearing from other owners/operators about performance and maintenance problems. Also, where can I find a good supplier of parts and manuals? Thanks--Jesse

I can probably supply parts & manuals for the tractor. I say probably , because I haven't had any parts requests , so I don't know the availability of the parts.

I bought a SD1840 about 1 1/2 months ago. I have had no problems so far except I bent my 3pt lift arm MY FAULT had it pressed out. The tractor is great starts every time no problems what so ever. Works very had and never misses a beat. Lots more power than weight, I joke its trying to did a hole home when the rice tires start to spin. Not sure about your model but mine is great. It has 881.7 hours on it someone posted here to watch for the 3 or 4 digit hr meters, 4 digit is better because you can see the hours down to the tenth place. I would recommend these tractors based only on my single experience. Mine is great, the filters are avalible at Napa and so far so good no poblems. Jray

I have had a Shibaura SD1643 on loan for about 2 months while the dealer gets a Koyker loader installed on a Yanmar F16 I bought. It starts easy, has plenty of power & no problems using box scraper. The 4wheel drive helps a lot with the loader & in boggy areas of my lakefront property (only got stuck once). It drove a 4' brush hog ok but heated up after about an hour of use on a very hot day. Only drawback I see is the lack of a flat operator deck which makes it a little harder getting on & off & the older you get, the more important that is! Don

Don, the dog looks like he (or she?) is studying the situation trying to come up with a solution./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Nice picture.

Well I recognize that dogs look. He's just waiting for the next rodent to come running out from that bush hog, then his real fun starts. My black lab has this game down pat.

Good looking tractor, but just so people don’t call me and ask to buy a SD1643 it is a SL1643. One letter makes a big difference. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif Have fun with it while you have it!

Buck is right (its a SL 1643D). The dog is Cher, the female half of my 2 fugitives from the local pound. We already had Sunny so what else could I call her? Don

Thanks for your inputs. I purchased the SD 2803 T an am really excited about learning the "toy". I just ordered a user's manual and a part's manual that I'm told is similar. Question now what size rotery cutter (bush hog) and tiller is appropriate for this size tractor (28hp?) and where can I buy one. I am located very near Florence South Carloina? thanks--jesse

Jesse, although your tractor could handle a 6ft cutter,I'd recommend a 5ft. If you get in real tough conditions, you are less likely to overload the tractor.Same deal with tiller. If you're close to Florence, you need to check Agri-Supply on 301 north. They have several brands and good prices.
