John Deere 3150
Hey guys I'm looking at buying a used loader for my jd 3150. Any advise on what model loader, and what to watch out for on used loaders? I've seen some with a 260 and 265. Are these the most common for that tractor?

I think I would get a JD 740 loader. 260 265 loader bucket/implement attachment system is a little outdated. 740 uses the 600/700 attachment system still has support. Latest is the Global system.

740 is avaliable in with or without MSL (mechanical self leveling), and designed for MFWD tractors. Mounts are available for your model. Check with dealer what models of tractors share mounts that fit yours.

Look for repairs due to abuse, welds, patches, twisted arms, bent cutting edge on the bucket. Worn pins.

Check condition of hoses, cylinder rods (bent, rust, nicks, heavy scratches), cylinder leaks.

If you plan on removing time to time make sure it has park stands, and quick disconnects on the hoses.

Make sure whatever you put on a 3150 has a full frame extending to the rear axle housings. Deere mandated full-frame loaders for Mannheim-built tractors back in the day.

Correction
Loader frame to rear axles only required on Mannheim 6 cyl models. Many 3 & 4 cyl models sold with just side mounting frames.

Any info on this or pictures?

If you go to JD's website you can find pictures of the Global attachment system. Look under AG, then material handling, then loaders. The implement will have two hooks facing down that a bar on the top of the Global carrier engages. The implement will also have two tabs with holes mounted lower and in between the hooks. The Global carrier will have two rods (connected to c common rod) that slide left to right and engage the holes in the tabs. There is a rod/lever on the left side of the Global carrier that you pull to the left to move both rods to the left. It can be locked to the left for implement hookup. You then release it and it's spring loaded to move to the right and engage the holes in the tabs.

John Deere also offers a hydraulic engagement system so you can put on and take off implements with out getting off the tractor.

Do a google search for John Deere BW15407 and BW15503
