Tractor
Looking to buy
Hi I am looking at a 50hp Laizhou huidind tracked tractor. Just wondering if anyone has heard of them or any advice. I would have to bring it in myself so would be a wait for parts and would have to do my own repairs but seems quite cheep . Around 10k . Any advice appreciated. Thanks Ken

I have no experience - but - tractors over 25 horsepower must meet tier 4 EPA pollution requirements. Is this tractor exempt? To meet those requirements a computer is generally involved. A local dealer quit selling Chinese tractors some time ago due to quality control issues. If a part broke and he ordered a replacement it would frequently not fit the tractor he was working on. Neither may ever be a problem for you but you may get some food for thought here.

Laizhou huidind started out making kitchen and Bath hardware and door hinges for many years and still do. They also moved into online sales for many other items. They bought out a bankrupt Chinese manufacturer of tracked agricultural tractors for mainly rice paddies and invested money to upgrade that line into tracked construction equipment. Be cautious, because if its some of the tracked agriculture equipment your buying, parts may not always be available because i am certain the agriculture line is being downgraded in favor of construction equipment. The agriculture equipment has narrow tracks and their construction equipment has much wider tracks.

No way I would buy something like that, it will be inoperable yard art

Got to agree. Go to any rural town. Half that price will buy you your choice of good-running 50 hp US-made tractors from the 1950s onward, and most have decent parts availability, work fine, and need nothing.
Ten grand would buy a creampuff.
