Buying bulk oil

   / Buying bulk oil #21
The cost oil oil in jugs versus pails is usually the same to a distributor, as the packaging materials are similar per gallon for each. I think I notice about a buck average lower price per gallon in a drum. Drums can be ok if you have a suitable way to dispense. Care should be taken to not let the small bung be open to let in dirt, or to allow standing water to collect on top of the drum as it will get inside. I probably use 20 gallons of oil a month myself, but I use jugs. I want clean oil, no dirt from dispensers, and it's just handy to grab a jug or 2.

if you want to use drums, you need proper bung spouts or a bbl pump to us eit upright, and you also need a breather element in the small bung.

flim-flaming it will always produce poor results.
