Oh yea I do! When I can retire I moving taking my pension else where.

I read an article a while back that said NY State was trying to tax money received from tax sheltered accounts on monies earned while the recipient was a NY resident and regardless where they lived when the $$ was withdrawn.

Not sure how it will end but I came away from the article thinking NY could win.

Anyone on this forum buy from Barlows from New York area? I'm just curious because I'm about to purchase atractor from Barlows. So I was wondering about not having to pay the tax on the tractor being out of state and any run into problems?

On anything you buy out of state that must be registered you don't pay sales tax where you bought it but will have to when you register it (cars, trucks, trailers etc.). For all online purchases you are supposed to report the price you paid on income tax forms so the state can collect sales tax. For a tractor purchase whether you report and pay sales tax to the state is up to you and your conscience. I know of several people that bought tractors out of state and have not paid sales tax.

True enough. Bought a Harley in Florida for my wife. Never registered there, just trailered home. Paid NY sales tax upon registering/titling at home.
Bought 2 bucket trucks in PA. Insured them with my local agent, then got 30 day PA tags to drive them home. Paid sales tax at local DMV when registering.
Bought a new dump trailer out of Mass. Never registered or titled in NY, I got a Maine plate for it right away. NY can kiss my a** for sales tax on that one. Same with my skid steer. Bought from an individual locally. The Soviet Socialist Republic of NY got nothing from that deal either. If I live to be 100 I could never be even for the money they took from me when my mother passed.
I see no reason for the state to be entitled to collect taxes on money that was spent in another state.

I bought my m7040 at Barlows, shipped it to Sweden, payed 35% import tax, and the tractor is still way cheaper than buy a m7040 in Sweden. The currency did play a big roll doing this buy.

In Sweden we pay 50-55% income tax.... So guys I think I win if we are going to talk taxes
I should say that we get a few good things, like free medical care, free schools upp to 18year etc.

Not sure I'd call that a win. Over half your income to the government? I'll pass. I just thought I had it bad.
