Buying from VMC/Valkenburg

Has anyone purchased anything from VMC in Greenwood SC? They are the importers for the Italian Orsi line. I've been talking to Matt over there for three weeks and getting the most basic information like pricing and lead time is like pulling teeth. Everyone gets busy sometimes but at this point it's seeming fishy. If it is this hard to give the guy money, how is it going to go when I need a part or something? Has anyone had a positive experience? Should I see red flags here, or give him more slack? I would have already walked away but the only alternative product I can find is a Chinese version, though it is half the price.

Red flags for sure!!! They will not help you if you have a problem.

Never heard of VMC.

I agree that if getting pricing and lead time is difficult, parts will be impossible. Not sure what implement you are looking for, but look for Woods or Bush Hog. Parts are readily available, and their equipment is among the best.

Saw this post. Know it's old but wanted to put in my input.
Matt hired me a month ago to work on his Isuzu Fork lift, Case 1850k Dozer, and a man lift in the shop.
He's using this and other equipment refurnishing property and buildings across the street from me where he is moving his manufacturing facility.
Their keeping other property on the Hwy to sell out of.
I've only met Matt 2 or 3 times but I'm very impressed. He seems to be a very respectful and honest young family man trying to build a business.
The fabrication of the implement parts I saw coming into the knew shop was very well made and very heavy duty steel.

He busy as a one legged man in a butt kicking contest though.

I've known the Valkenburgs since the 1980's. They are great people and will give their best for any customer. Just because an uninformed person hasn't heard of someone has nothing to do with their ability to perform.
