Discount Hydraulic hose is offering something online that is worth it's weight in gold. JetLaunch JCL-2030 Pneumatic Hose/Tube Cleaning Gun Kit. This is the Ultra-Clean system that every hose shop should have. This setup cleans the hose after assembly. In any new hose, there is all kinds of junk in there. From the manufacturing process, to the cutting. Don't clean the hose, it all goes in your hydraulic system. Most shops don't have this. I bought it and clean every hose that leaves my shop. You don't need to spend $1450 like I did. You can just buy the projectiles, insert them into your new hose before installing, and shoot it with compressed air. If the foam plugs seem a little pricey (which they are) maybe you and someone you know can split the cost. Hey, maybe you can even sell them to your local hose shop.

Most of you know how I feel about internet ordering, but I don't know of anyone or anyplace that offers these for sale over the counter, besides maybe a Caterpillar dealer. I highly recommend this. Sorry to sound like a salesman, but I really believe in this.

Man!!!

I'm grittin' my teeth here.

I "JUST" had two new hoses made and I was very meticulous about washing the old cylinder out and making sure no junk was going to go into my hydraulic system from the cylinder. It never occurred to me to clean out the new hoses.

:mad:

Oh well, too late now. Maybe the filters will catch it.

Just an FYI. If you take a newly made hose, and even blow it out with air to clean it. Now, pump new oil thru it from one 55 gallon drum to another. Did you know that the new 55 gallon drum of oil will no longer pass any manufacturers specs for cleanliness? A hose cleaned with the foam plug in this same test did pass all the cleanliness specs. Filters will catch almost all of the debris, but, what did all that debris go thru before it got to the filter.

Gee now you tell me after I put 4 new hoses on the bucket tilt for my FEL.. Never occured to me that new hoses would have stuff in them...I guess I will look for any problems now. Haven't had any seat time since putting the new hoses on a few weeks ago.

Or you could just shoot some brakleen through it & then a litte air. A can of brakleen is olny about $3. I bet you could even do a couple hoses plus other stuff with it.

DO NOT SHOOT BRAKLEEN THRU A HYDRAULIC HOSE!!!!!!!!!!!

Brakleen attacks the nitrile liner!. Don't believe me? Put on a pair of nitrile gloves and squirt a little brakleen in your hands. Tell me what happens to the gloves.

Brakleen's ingredients and the chemical compatibility with a nitrile lined hose.
X = non-compatible
F = fair resistance
G = good resistance

Acetone -X
Methanol-G
Toluene -X
Carbon Dioxide- no data available

Well, You learn something new everyday. How long you figure it takes to do harm? How about Carb-clean?

WOW:eek: , Wayne concerning my problem (another post) When I put the new pump on I had to put 2 new hoses on (from TSC). What's the posibility that there was debrie in the hoses that has caused my problem with my FEL?

Thanks.

I don't mean to scare people into buying something like this. Machines have run for years without it. However, there is a good chance at these contaminants doing harm to your hydraulic system at some point. One thing I noticed about the people here at TBN, they seem to be a little more aware of their machines workings and are very maintenance minded owners. More so than most equipment owners I deal with. I can't sell synthetic oil around here if I priced it the same as standard oil. But many of you guys wouldn't do without it. You guys also change your fluids when it needs it. Many around these parts could care less. My point being that many of you go to such great lengths to care for your equipment and didn't know that if you change a hose, you just contaminated your system. Even if you squirt a garden hose thru the new hose, then blow it out thoroughly with air, it's way better than bringing it home and installing a dirty hose on your machine.

Possible? Yes. I'm going to have to get a see thru plastic jug and post pics of what comes out of these new hoses. It's not just my supplier, it's all new hoses. From their storage, then the residue left after cutting. All those little pieces of the 2 wire hose have to go somewhere. They all don't leave the hose.

I don't think that the new hoses caused your FEL problem. But you will be shocked when I show you what comes out of a new hose. You can also google Ultra-clean technologies. They make all these cleaning systems. I think they have the patent.
