Are there any dealers that sell add ons such as creeper gears, hydraulic valves, mid PTO, ect mail order? I'm trying to keep initial prise on the same planet that I live on!

Seems there is little pride in great prices - as they are not often displayed on the Internet. You have to call them on the telephone.

Perhaps the dealers don't want to directly compete online. Or, maybe it is too difficult to see how you are dressed or what kind of truck you drive over the Internet.

I would enjoy seeing what others pay for specific implements or tractors. A database would be great - but difficult to maintain.

Of course you could ask via email, however the response rate to email queries, regardless of the subject, is VERY poor - LISTENING DEALERS???

Yep, I agree with the poor email response from my local dealers. I'm in Iraq now and trying to shop for a loader to fit my tractor by email inquiries. I have emailed three Kubota dealers in my area. One never responded. The other two responded with detail questions and I immediately emailed them back with answers, never heard another word. So now I'm branching out my search area. One thing is guaranteed though, I will not buy from those three dealers. Not even a can of paint. I'll drive right past them without a second glance. If they don't want to do business by email, they need to remove their email address from their websites.

FWIW, my limited email experience, with Messick, Carver, and Chappell has been excellent!

Questions and prices asked in the evening usually have a response when I sign in the next morning or by early afternoon. Also received emails telling me when more time was needed for a package price or shipping.

Thanks :)

You'll probably find that your local dealer is going to give you the best pricing on those kits. Till anyone else pays shipping costs and makes some money (we have to eat too) the pricing will be near list or above. Its normal for kits to be expensive, as a dealer we don't really make money installing them - the manufacturer does.

I don't mind installing my own parts :) but I'm choking on the price of the 2 cylinders for top 'n tilt and the price on the valves! I don't expect something for nothing, but I'd like to be able to do some work myself and save some money :)

Besides, in this area (napa valley) prices tend to not budge much, there is little competition from buisnesses 20 miles away because of the large hills between, Santa Rosa and Sacramento do much better :) and go south to vallejo to save thousands!

The cheapest top and tilt parts that I have found are from Tisco (division of Woods). They actually are used to source some of the Kubota T&T parts. You maybe able to try them, but there is no promise the gemoetry will be perfect. A Tisco top link is about $220 w/o hoses.

Don't be too hard on the dealers for not answering their e-mail. I had sent an email to my local Kubota dealer and never heard anything back. I also had emailed a regional dealer and never had a response. Turns out that many dealers have email addresses but never use them; they are essentially inactive. My local dealer normally gives a very quick response (like when I send a fax) and is extremely helpful and involved with his customers. He just never even realized I had sent an e-mail. So, I wouldn't be too quick to just boycott a dealership due to lack of e-mail response alone.
