:applause: A PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) only takes a 1/2 hour or so. Hopefully the dealer you chose gives new units some priority.
I hope so too. But you know those farmers. They need it now, not an hour later. At least that's how my uncle is with his tractors haha. And I wont be home this weekend to play with my new toy anyways :yell: . Jabonee if you do not mind me asking, what Mahindra dealer do you work for?

Congratulations!!! I'm sure that with all the pre-purchase research you've done you'll be more than pleased with your choice. By happy coincidence, on my Mahindra calendar, the featured tractor for June is none other than a 2538 w/FEL and rear rotary cutter (hard not to say 'Brush Hog')! The tractor gods must approve of your choice:thumbsup:

I do not want to be specific. Lets just say our dealership is in the greater Altoona area.:shhh:

hurley, just trying to point out what I knew. We were up in Maryland last week and one thing really noticed was difference in the grass there and here. It could be the grass there does better with rear discharge where here with the heat and rain we had last few days we are seeing our grass jump up to 6 inches in a week.

I have and used side discharge rear finishing mower for years and get very good result with it. As good as any top notch mower deck will. No idea if you have used tractor with cutter before but you must keep the rpms up to the right pto speed for the cutter to operate properly, use the gear to get the right ground speed.

On your main reason for cab really understand it and all things are relative: sunday we had heat index of 100 at 10:30 AM which is high the early in the year but very normal from about mid July through much of August and then we have winter enough it is cold on a tractor especially at night.

One thing you mention was having the pto on auto. What do you mean by that? Never heard of auto setting on a pto. I was not thinking of trying to controlling the tractor but the implement, spreaders and sprayers often have to be cut off and on and adjusted while in use. kt

A fair number of newer tractors have an auto PTO setting. Mine has it and I never use it. It is nothing more than a microswitch on the 3pt lift handle so that when the pto is engaged and you raise the 3pt the PTO shuts off. When the 3pt is lowered the PTO re-engages. It is an easy feature to add on for any tractor that uses an electric/hydraulic PTO engagement.

Man heat index of 100 degrees that early. I do not miss those temps. Used to live in VA near the beach. Yesterday we had a high of 65 degrees. Luckily it will be warming up this weekend into the 70-80s. My grass is high right now because I am expecting my tractor today when I get home from work. So I will see how it mows.

I will not get a chance to play with our new toy really until Sunday afternoon since I will be out of town. But atleast now I will be able to mow my grass without asking my father to borrow his NH TC18 Tractor to mow. Have so many plans for this tractor and I can not wait to get started. Will post pictures when I get a chance!
