Buying new LS XR3140HC

Anyone have thoughts on the 2018 XR3140HC, I'm going to buy one this next weekend and have researched for about a year now. Wanted to see what an owner thinks of the tractor.

Well, I have a 2018 XR3135C and so far it’s been great.

I think this is new for LS so there might not be many out there. I have the same tractor as a Boomer 40 but frankly haven't had to use it much so I cannot give you great feedback yet.

Couple opinions I do have so far:

1. Steering wheel height is ridiculously short.
2. Ground clearance for the fuel tank and mid PTO is really to low.
3. SMV needs to be mounted somewhere else.
4. No Regen function for the loader.
5. No float option for rear hydraulic circuits
6. Rear 3pt lift seems awfully low for a 40hp tractor
7. Don't like they don't use dash lights, like 4wd indicator for one.

I could probably think of a couple others but nothing to earth shattering.

Own a 2018 LS XR4145C, same tractor I believe, just bigger and gear driven. Seems like a great tractor. Can parrot everything PCABE5 said, only I dont mind most of them. My 3pt seems strong enough, never had any issues. I dont have a mid-pto, and I can care less about the dash lights. But like he said, not earth shattering.

That steering wheel though... we have been talking about a mod. I am looking at doing the exact same thing, as soon as I figure out exactly what to do.

I think you will be happy with the tractor. If I can offer any advice, if you believe you only need a 35hp tractor, get a 45hp tractor.

ooooOOOooo... wait a second. An LS XR3140?? Are you sure? I see on LS site there is an XR3135 but then it jumps to the XR4140.

regardless, get a bigger tractor than you think you'll need. Just my opinion.

Yes, they make an XR3140 but it does not show up on their website. The local LS dealer here had 1 but had a hard time selling it because if was 1500 dollars more than the 3135. It is a smaller frame than the tractor you have.

How easy/difficult is it to remove the FEL completely??

I am curious for the XG3140. I don't know if the FEL removal is the same as the XR or not.

Went and test drove. Yes 40hp with FEL ballast tires. having delivered this week. Thanks for the input

AKcold, before choosing this tractor, what did you have before? Did you go up or down in size and power? Please give us your thoughts after doing your normal chores around the property.
