Hi everybody. Am new to tractors and therefore new to this site. Just moved to northwestern Maine to old farmhouse and 25 acres. I picked a bad time (Nov 1) and year to do this. Am up to my armpits in snow. Haven't seen mailbox in a month, wife has to tiptow to see out kitchen window because of snow and snowblower is on it's last legs due to overwork. Have decided to buy tractor to handle next years supply as well as maintain my property. I have been doing much research and shopping and also reading posts on this site (it is habit forming) and I have lots of questions although I will not ask them all now. I have posted this thread on the Mahindra forum because I keep coming back to this brand as the best value/quality for the money. If any non Mahindra user happens to read this post and can convince me not to go this route, please try as I am about to take the plunge soon. I have pretty much narrowed my choices to the 4530 or the 5530 and possibly I might take another look at the 4110 although it seemed a little tight fitting when I sat in it at the dealers last week. I know the dealer you buy from is very important, however I am limited in choices in this area. The closest dealer is 65 miles. My first question (There will be more) concerns the models I have mentioned. Does anyone have experience or first hand knowledge of these models? Especially the 5530 as I can find little on the internet on this model. My expected uses will be: moving snow, clearing land, hauling trees for firewood, setting garden plots, grading my driveway and anything else I can think of. The latter use is just to maximize seat time of course.

The 45/5530 are very heavy duty and definately stronger than the 4110 but all of the models are plenty capable to do your jobs. If you have other reasons to to lean toward the 4110, have the dealer raise the seat up 2" and back an 1 1/2. This greatly improves the cramped feeling on the 4110. I have done this on most of the 4110's I have sold.

Dlearyfun,
I have heard the 4530 and 5530 is a tank. You can't go wrong with either for what you want to do. The 30 series is close to my 6520 4WD, which I love. Be sure to get the skid steer quick attach bucket option with the FEL. Then you can use any attachment designed for skid steer loaders. Get the optional 2nd remote also. It is cheaper now to get the 2nd remote than later. Also, a few things to think about between a 4530 and 5530. The 4530 has fully enclosed dry disc brakes. The 5530 has wet disc brakes. Both the 4530 and 5530 have 11 gpm hyd pumps. That is big enough to run up to their biggest backhoe, the 511. The 4110's hyd pump just puts out just 9.5 gpm. Since the 4110 weighs just 3969 pounds, it is really a compact tractor. The 4530 weighs 5720 and the 5530 weighs 6193 pounds. More weight equals more traction per pound/horsepower. I would think the 4530 and 5530 are in the lower end of the ultility tractor
catagory. Also, I have heard rumors of Mahindra discontinuing the 10 series.
I hope this helps. :)
hugs, Brandi

Hello Dick,

I purchased a 4530 in the later part of 2007 and I'm very satisfied with it. It is very much a "TANK"! With the FEL and filled tires, it's around 8000lbs. I considered the 4110 but I wanted the heavier tractor. It seems to push around the woods instead of getting pushed around if that makes any sense. Everything about the 4530 is heavy duty. I've included a few pics of the 4530 in action. I traded in a Mahindra 4505 that I had owned for eight years without any trouble. That's why I went with Mahindra again. They make great tough tractors! Again, I'm very satisfied with the 4530 however, if I had it to do over again I would have gone bigger like the 6520.
Yes Brandi, I'm jealous!:( Oh well, one day!

Hope this helps,

Na, to close to what I have now. Now if it was 100hp with a cab, well, probably not even then. Already have a Case 1200 with 120hp. I need a smaller tractor for clean up type things. ;)

If you have a willing dealer and enough $$$$$, it could be done. But it would be really hard to keep that one clean.

Heck if I could pick a color it would be Dirt Brown. That way even Bill6 wouldn't know if it was clean or not. Hey someone's got to pull your chain Brian.
