Buying new tractor

After owning our property for a couple of years and paying my neighbors to mow and move stuff, I am finally going to get that much wanted tractor. It took a few margaritas to get the AFE from the wife. What's an AFE? you ask. In the oil business it is an Authorization For Expenditure. As probably most of you know, that's important.

Anyway, I've been shopping and decided on a blue one for a couple of reasons. I really liked the way the FEL controls worked and most importantly, my father-in-law retired from Ford Motor Credit. Thanks to everyone on this website for turning me on to the program. After a little discussion with the dealers, they agreed to do the deal.

I am in the process of trying to get the best deal from a couple of dealers. The problem being getting it to our place from 200 miles away. The delivery charge will probably be the deciding factor.

I am going with a TC35DA with a FEL and a Modern brand rotary cutter.

The TC35 is a nice machine! Now that you have the AFE, when do you get delivery? By the way, I learned long ago to ship the lovely Mrs_Bob off to visit the inlaws when I want to buy a new toy. Somehow while she is gone, I take delivery of things she never imagined would fit in our garage! Not that I recommend others try my methods, but so far she hasn't kicked me out /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I am in the oil business and work in Fort Worth also, but live west of there, in Parker County.

Congratulations! That tractor should serve you well for a long time. My cousin has the TC33, and it's a good strong one, so your's should be fantastic. John

Good distraction. I also usually try to get my wife some kind of gift to keep her occupied while I'm getting a new tractor. That way she doesn't notice the hours i spend fauning over some rusty piece of junk being dropped in the front yard..
