Got a BX1500 with 48" mower last year, worked fine.
This year, last week I hit a root and the RH blade broke off the shaft bolt and the blade, cover, washer, and bolt part just lay there in the dirt, to be found by my metal detector...
Well, ok, new to me, bought new blade shaft, $36, bolt, installed them, relatively easily.
Today, hit a root with the same blade, bolt broke again. Never in 30 years did my previous mower, a '80's Cub Cadet 18hp, do that.
I did tighten blade bolts hard the first time, maybe 100 ftlbs; second time much lighter, probably less than the recommeded 80ftlbs. I lubricated the washer beneath the blade bolt.
I have no idea why this is breaking, can anyone advise?
