Hi All, Looking for some suggestions. I have had a hydraulic leak in the area of the loader Coupler for a while now and sort of ignored it as I keep the tractor in a shed. I would add some SUDT a couple of times a year to keep it topped off.

We are finally getting a garage and I did not want to leak Hydro oil on the new concrete floor. I found the leak was coming from the threads on the four male couplings where they screw onto the hydraulic line, where they mount on the support bracket. I took all the male couplers off, and used Teflon tape on the threads. That took care of the leak.

I took delivery of 17 yards of 1/2 - minus crushed stone to bring the bring the level of the driveway up to the level of the garage entrance. As I was finishing up the job I started to bring the tractor on the the garage floor to level the driveway at the entrance. As I started to come around with another load I saw hydraulic oil drips on the 5 day old concrete. Bummer!

The first thing I did was pressure wash the bottom side of the tractor. I was then able to see the oil was coming from the Loader control valve. I found two of the bolts on the banjo fittings were not quite as tight as the rest so I snugged them up.

when the leak first occurred, the temperature outside was in the high 80's to 90's. Today it had cooled to 80 and I did not have any drips the first 1/2 hour of operation. I then started to see drips. The leak only seems to occur once the tractor is fully warmed up.

I had picked up some spare O-Rings on Saturday and figured I would find the leak and change out the leaking one today. Well, the leak is so small I am finding it hard to find. Once I saw the drip on the ground, the oil had already spread too much to pinpoint were it came from. The best I can see, there are no leaks from the o-ring at the top of the bolts. I can see fluid along the base of the valve though. I will re-clean all signs of the oil and this time I will have to watch the valve as the tractor starts to warm up and see if I can see the first appearance of the oil.

Does anyone know if there is a dye I can add to the hydraulic oil to see it better, before it starts to spread? Do you think it is safe to use brake cleaner spray around the outside of the valve to get ride of the oil residue, to make it easier to find the location of the leak, or any other suggestions on cleaning fluid?

I also checked with my local Kubota dealer when I got the new O-Rings. He said to check the banjo fittings for cracks.

Is it possible there is a leak from around the push-rods, where they enter the valve? Has anyone else had a leak on the valve and were did you find it? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Only the garage foundation is in. The actual garage build will start on Wednesday. Couldn't the problem have held off until it was finished so I would have a nice place to work on it!

All the best

You can get uv dye for oil at most parts places-it works good. Gotta have the light and goggles too.

Brake cleaner is OK except if it splashes up on dash or ip then the plastic could get foggy or discolored.

I used some uv dye and found the bottom o-ring failed. Even knowing were the leak was, by using the uv light, I could not see the leak with white light. Thanks TJ Kubota23.
