I'm back, I'm back!!! I'm so excited. In one day, I have aquired a bagger for the BX (on the wish list the entire 5 years I have owned the BX), and now, I can finally post to TBN as my original alter-ego rOgUe.

$800 Used perhaps 150 hours - MAX. Pretty nice shape.

How'd I do? Of course I still need to install it (pointers?).

BTW - This guy is selling a 2002 BX-2200 w/ a 60" with 250 hours for only $7K! e-mail me for his number if you want it.

Congratulations, that price is much better than the $1,600 I paid new, when I look at the bagger it is hard to believe how much these things cost. I have found that the bagger is a little tough to install yourself, the trick I have found is to put 2x4's underneath the stands near the front of the bagger, say 6" back or so. Once you connect up the 3 pt arms and the shaft you simply rotate on these 2x4's to get the top pin in, that makes it pretty simple. Take a look at other posts from just a few days ago but I broke a shear pin on the shaft connecting the two gearboxes inside the bagger, it is a shoulder bolt that is tough to find when you are mowing at 6 PM on a Sunday evening so I would suggest stocking up on a couple of those along with the shear bolt on the PTO shaft.

I got it mounted and leveled (+/- 3/16inch). I have not put on the chute and attached it to the deck yet. I want to change the gearbox oil first. Anyone have pointers on how the heck to get at them? My manual tells me nothing about access to the gearboxes.

I sold mine to Junkman for half price.

Getting it on is hard. Getting it off is harder. The toplink doesn't swivel and the frame's own weight keeps pressure on the link pin, even when perfectly alligned (and gettin' it alligned ain't easy). Once it is alligned, you gotta' take a smaller dia. pin and sledgehammer it backwards from the opposite end. When it backs out halfway through the union of the toplink, the weight of the frame will slam down so the pins wedge at an angle and you have to wiggle each one out backwards by hand from there.

Good Luck.

But other than that it's great right!? ;^)

Yep... Once it is on the tractor it works great! Some complain that the bags are not large enough but they are big enough for me. BTW, I live on a western PA hillside and I have not had to use counter weights in th front. The steering gets a little light when you are going up a steep hill and the bags are loaded with wet grass. However, I have never had the frontend lift off the ground.

Having a very wet winhter and spring, with mucky clay beneath the sod, I had to wait for the turf to dry some in spring before the first cut. By then, the grass was pretty dense and tall. On the first cut of the season, even with the deck set high, I would still get some clogging in the chute, and would have to turn off the tractor and clean the chute out by hand.
