James,

Nice rig (and dog). Have you had any problems chewing up your yard with those tires?

Eric,

The tractor is for some other property that I own; however, I have used it around my current house (where this pictures are at). The tires have not done bad. If it is wet, like the back of my yard can get, the tires leave an imprint in the yard...but the grass is OK.

This is Mac and Bobby, aka The Boys, aka the Buckeroos, aka Rimfire and Buckshot. Mac has a green eye and a blue eye. They are 8 years old and are Collies, each about 90 lbs, very sweet and gentle, it is me ya got to worry about! This is our second set. Dogs are wonderful beings.

TresCrows,

Nice looking dogs. Colllies are great. I've had two. Once as a lad (had to use the word since we're talking collies here /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif) and the second had to be put down about 13 yrs ago.

I would have liked another but the wife said she wanted something smaller. So, we decided on a Border Collie. Not so small as we found out. He's a Red Border Collie and weighs in around 60 lbs. His dad was about 65 lbs. The only thing in common between the two breeds is the word Collie.

Hi Terry, yes you are correct, the two breeds have little in common. I also have owned a Border Collie and she was about 55lbs and a wonderful companion. She chewed up a bully once when I was a little boy who pushed me down at the bus stop. Fortunately this was way before lawyers over threw the United States. The Border is much more active, more "eye" reactive and more of a herding dog whereas the Collie is gentler, more reserved, energetic but not to the extent the Border is and is more of a sheperd/hearding dog. The Border is very intense, focused and of course intelligent.
Of course so are the collies--intelligent--like my neighbor tells her wolfhound--you realize they are smarter than you!!! It is fun to watch my boys gang up on the larger "hound" and take her toys away and when they play chase/wrestle they also use gang tactics to distract her while the other takes her down for a good wrestle which all three join in on.
It is my opinion that the Collie is easier to keep than the Border but I love both breeds and the above are just my opinions and it must always be remembered that dogs are all individuals and blanket statements can be misleading.
I love my boys, hope y'all have a wondeful time with your Border Collie.
