I have a BX 2200 that's in need of some work. I'm thinking of buying a BX2660 and was just wondering about how many parts are interchangeable.
Are the engines similar etc?
Would be good if I only had to keep one set of parts.
I don't know but I do know my first Kubota was a BX2200 from 12 years ago. Traded it to a B7800 which I kept 3 years and traded it to a BX2350 which I kept for a few months and trade to a BX2660. The BXxx00 series preceded the BXxx50 series which preceded the BXxx60 series. That's several years apart. (There may have also been a BXxx30 series between the 00 and 50 series-- BX23)
The body of the BXxx50 series had some plastic parts that were metal on the BXxx00 and BXxx60 series. The engine may be the same with tweaks to get the increased HP, I don't know about that.
There may be free parts manuals available online and by taking a lot of your time you may be able to crossreference them to see.
I own both- and I wouldn't count on too many parts being interchangeable. The little BX has been re-engineered at least three times in the name of 'improvement'. Anything my BX 2660 has needed was purchased new- part numbers didn't carry over.
