bx 2230

Well I just got my new BX 2230 with FEL and used it to fill holes in my yard from stumps that had been removed. It worked great till I decided to clean it up before putting it up. My hazard lights keep flashing, If I flip the switch on and off it will stop for a few seconds then starts back. When I turn ignition on the headlights are on. So now it sits in my shop with battery disconnected. Please help.

If you washed it with water, you got water into the switches and that is what is making the "connection". Haven't had the problem with my BX, but I did on my old Moline. I packed the switches with Vaseline and that resolved the problem forever. With them full of Vaseline, there was no way that the water could accumulate in the switch to cause a problem. Also works well in light sockets to keep the moisture out and keeps the bulbs from getting stuck in the socket. Also works for your outdoor lighting fixtures that have screw in bulbs. With Vaseline on the threads, they will never become "fused" to the sockets again..

You can pry them out of the dash and unplug them. Then turn them over on the work bench to drain. If you use the hair dryer method, be careful not to over heat them. Plastic melts faster than you expect. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I had the same problem with my BX23. The dealer ordered another turn signal switch (no charge). Replacing the switch was very simple, and I haven't had a problem with it since. Until you get the new switch you can disconnect the connector from underneath, and the lights will not flash or drain the battery. Of course the signals won't work either. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
