Trying to figure out my BX23's problem. After awhile, when I put my foot on the pedal to go forward or backward, I start to lose power. Sometimes I stall out and sometimes not. I changed the fuel filter and problem still happens. The only thing I can come up with next is the safety switch under the seat (that goes stops the motor when you raise up while moving) might be acting up.
Lord knows, I've got plenty of weight to keep the seat down! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Any suggestions?

Sounds like a safety switch.

You've got the seat switch and the PTO switch that could cause this.

Is the PTO "on" when this happens?

I know that the PTO and seat switchs work together to control the circuit to the fuel cutoff solenoid.

If you have eiterh a multimeter or continuity tester I'd recommend to check both switchs under the seat as well as the PTO switch to make sure they open & close their circuits correctly.

Good luck

Thanks for replying.
Where is the PTO switch?

Also, I noticed you have the 60" MMM. How do you like it?

Thanks again!

You can see it if you look at the PTO engagement lever just above the left rear wheel and below the fender. It's a plunger type switch.

I really like the 60" MMM. It runs very smooth and doesn't gouge the ground.

You didn't say if the problem happens only when the PTO is on or all the time, Kubota got pretty complicated when they devised their safety cutoff system.
They had to introduce electrical shutoff to get the diesel to shutdown immediately.
Good luck
