BX 24 Hour meter problem

I have searched everywhere and have not found anyone with my problem. I have a BX 24 and my hour meter just stopped working. The hour reading is correct but it reads the same all the time like it is frozen in time. I am not having the problem everyone else seems to have where the hour meter starts reading several thousand hours.

Anyone have any clue as to why this is happening?

The hour meter is just crap. Yours just happen to fail, totally.
Mine started blacking out and I had it replaced under warranty. I now remove if I need to pressure wash it. It does NOT like water.
Sorry, I know this does not help, but there is nothing you can do.

Thanks for your input. I think that my meter is ok because it still reads correct time. Can anyone tell me how it knows to start increasing time? Is there a sensor that tells the meter that the tractor is running or does it just start increasing time when it is powered up? Is there a wiring diagram anywhere that details the pinout of the dash plug?

don;t know if this will help but I had an older 'Bota with this problem and it was real easy to fix. Their is a flexible steel wire that spins inside of a black case (You can find it coming out of the back of the instiment cluster). Should go to a transmission area which makes it spin (mine also "fed" the RPM gauge which had also stopped working.) Well that wire cracked and I bought a new one from Kubota which wasn't much money and simply unscrewed it with a pair of pliars and reattached hand tight.

When my floor deck cracked. I took it back to the dealer for replacement. While there..the dealer replaced the knobs on the control levers and replaced the hour meter. They said they had problems with them...so just replaced them.

Put in a new dash today and it does not work either. It lights up, the fuel and temp gauges work but the hour meter reads 0.0 all the time.

Can anyone explain how the digital hour meter on a BX 24 works?

You have to have a loose connection somewhere at the other end of the wire. Trace the wires and I'm sure you'll find the problem. When mine died, it just blacked out totally.

Found it. Cut wire at the alternator. Thanks for the help guys.
