BX 25 Weight / Options Plate

Howdy all,

Cleaning up the garage sometimes means making things out of all the "stuff".
That's what has happened here, I made a weight plate on which I can hang many things.
It mounts on the backhoe brackets.
Right now I just use it for the weights and chain bucket seen. It can accommodate 5 weights.The weights are filled with melted lead provided by a local tire shop. They weigh about 70 Lbs. apiece.
The weight tubes are topped with Hydraulic cement. The Green is for contrast and Elimination of another can on the shelf. ( I like all colors )
The weights and the chain bucket are secured on the bottom with a 3/8 bolt. The main plate itself is threaded to eliminate a backing nut.

One draw back of course is it can't be on with the hoe.

Now let me look in the Junk pile and build a few more options....

Is there any way to add a 2" receiver that you lift with the 3pth? I would be lost without a trailer ball....even my hoe has provisions for one when it is installed...

I think it could be done, I move most of my trailers on the front end loader with the help of a pallet fork / Hitch adapter.

The main plate sure perhaps also be 3/8 inch.

It is so easy to place trailers when looking forward.

Hey there JB,

Well its sort of old fashioned and low tech, I work out of a tiny garage and the driveway (on sunny days) so I have no high tech gear.

I try to work in squares as much as possible but when shaping is required I Mark the shape and cut all the corners I can with a power hack saw, Then finish the shape with a plain old angle grinder.

It takes time but the results can be quite satisfying.

Holes I just cut out with a new hole saw.

As far as bending rod I make a template with some thing easy to bend then using a neighbors large old time heavy vise duplicate the shape as close as possible with a plain old fashioned sledge hammer.

When bending rod I found it useful to mark all rods the same as far as where they will rest in the vise when starting the bend, they can then be fine tuned with a little muscle and beatings.

I am in the process of making a 1/4 inch skid plate with 3/16 shield for the BX transmission and fan area and bending plate (actually quite easy) to do it, I will post shortly.
