I developed a hydraulic leak Saturday on the backhoe. I looked and found that a line was loose. The arm had swung at some point and hit the line cutting a small gash into it. I did contact my dealer today and they said it will be replaced under warranty. I just wanted to let everyone to know it can happen and make sure they check the lines for tightness. I assume it could have been worse and broke the vale assembly. The hose is just 49.00 to replace but it looks like it would be very frustrating to replace it.

Thanks...

I notice in your photo that one of your bolts is loose....the second photo. I noticed that several of mine are like that as well. They have been that way from day 1. I am very active in inspecting them each time I use the machine and they don't seem to be getting any looser....they are nylon lock nuts on mine. Are they to be this way or should they be snug? Anyone know. They are not high strength bolts IIRC so I don't think so, but seeing your photo reminded me.

I would do away with the steel fitting on the end and go straight into the distribution hub with a standard hose connection. That way the hose could lay much flatter with the rest and not be in the way of the backhoe frame. The hole really doesn't show wear as such, just looked like it popped due to a bad hose.
Are you sure the hoe can hit it?

When the nut loosened, the angle of the aluminum line made the hose push out the side. Then when I would swing the arm to the right it would hit the line. I did not notice it until it started leaking. Now the hose is not leaking but where the coupling attached to the valve was leaking. I tightened the coupling up and did not have any leaks. I am afraid the hose will blow in time.

If you're talking about the retaining bolt that keeps the pins on the backhoe, etc., from rotating, believe it or not, I think they're suppose to be a little loose. The reason I say this is that when I bought my FEL quick attach from Kubota, it came with instructions on installing the pins that hold the QA to the FEL arms. They instruct to leave a few threads showing on the retaining bolts for some reason. Maybe someone can explain why they advise to leave them a little loose.

I bought the thumb later for my backhoe on the Bx25D. Instuctions on it said the same thing. Maybe it lets the pin move ever so slightly and keeps it from rusting in place, otherwise the the bolt could bind and shear later making a complete mess or fatal accident? Just over thinkin!!!
