I have a BX2750 and have noticed a change over the years.
On the back side of the blower ( behind the auger) there seems to be an increasing build up of snow. When I first got it it stayed clean while blowing snow, but the last year or so the has been a substantial build up.
Question: Could the auger be worn down causing higher clearence in the back ? If so should the auger be replaced or is there a kit to attach to the auger to take up the space and keep the back clean ?
The edge of the auger has little raised sections that have a shiney edge to them.

Thanks

The gloss finish to the original paint eventually wears down and allows the snow to stick.

Best solution- spray the whole blower with Fluid Film and nothing will stick for multiple storms. You could also choose to apply an automotive wax to that area.

SNOWBLOWER IMPELLER KITS

This web page sells rubber bolt-on pieces to close the gap created by wear.
I have thought about buying them for mine.

Thank You but it looks like it is for the impeler (fan) in the rear of the blower. I am looking for something for the auger ( the part that the snow sees first )

My 2750D is about 3 years old with about 15 hours of actual use. I use it on a paved driveway so no gravel. I have always had some snow buildup between the auger and the housing, maybe 1/2 to 3/4" thick. It does not seem to be getting worse and I do not see signs of rubbing/ wear. May just be the way it is designed.

Update, I just went out to blow the driveway. Here is what mine looks like right after blowing

I would do as mentioned above and spray the surfaces with Fluid Film, or Ariens Sno-Jet Spray, or Snow Jet, or wax it. I had trouble with my 2750D plugging up with real wet snow last year and hope to avoid that situation this year by using one of these products. I have 2 layers of Snow Jet on right now and will have a third by the end of the day.

Has anyone removed the wire guard on the front of the chute? The two times mine clogged solid last year it looked like if that wasn't there it might have cleared itself so I was thinking of trying without it.

Me.
Mine has been off for 3 years now & amazingly I still have all my digits.

LOL that's always handy! I won't go anywhere near the business end of the blower when it's on since 1) the tractor dies the second you get off the seat and 2) I don't fancy a face full of snow so the guard is of questionable value.
