It all started when I wanted to put a set of loaded AG's on my BX1500 to get better traction while snow plowing. As I found out the hard way, you can't put 18x8.5-8 AG tires on a BX1500...the inner rim does not fit over the front axle hub!
I had purchased a set of barely used (99%) AG's off a BX1830 from a dealer in AZ, who assured me they would fit my BX1500. I was a little disappointed to find the rear rims faded when they were delivered to my house, but the dealer had them store unprotected outdoors for the summer. I brought the tires to my dealer in Westport, MA who not only confirmed this, but loaded them with CC for me. In addition to that, the AZ dealer shipped me (2) left rear tires! So the dealer had to reverse one for me. In addition to that, he had to reseat the other "correct" rear tire. By doing this, the mechanic beat up the rims really bad, as the tire was seated really tight to the rim. The good thing was that the dealer filled the tires for free. When I got home to swap out my turfs for the AG's, I found the rear AG's had very little clearance of the rear fenders. When I went to put the fronts on...well, they didn't fit. Really disappointed, I left the rears on to plowed through 8" of thick, heavy, wet, white stuff the following day. I will say I found an extreme difference in performance. The rears did not slipped once!
Figuring I can get away with ordering a pair of 16x7.5-8, I didn't realize I was setting myself up for a serious problem. When I called Ronnie at Tractorsmart.com, he said I would have a tire mismatch and do damage to the FWD. Not wanted to risk that, I bit the bullet and purchased a full set of AG's for the BX1500. For $360, they were shipped right to my door.
With that out of the way, I now have a set of barely used AG's (with rear rims beat up) for any other BX except the BX1500. I would like to offer them to one of you. I am willing to drive 50 miles from 02726. The rear's are heavy (about 160lbs), so I can't/won't ship them. If interested, let me know and make me an offer, as they are doing no good stacked in the corner of my garage. I am willing to let them go cheap. I will post some pics either tonight or tomorrow morning. Hopefully, I can make some BX non-1500 owner happy.
