Got a call from the dealer I purchased my Bota from.. Too bad they are 600+ miles away, but they treat me like I'm their next door neighbor.

I posted in an earlier post, that during delivery, the battery cover had a cracked tab and never really fit very well. I talked to the Kubota cust rep on the phone about the general problems with the BX that have been posted and he told me of the new updated covers with longer tabs and the new fenders..

Well, I left a message with the dealer about the "New" battery cover design as they were getting me a replacement. The parts guy actually called me and appologized for the delay in getting me the replacement as they had ordered it and received one that looked the same as my old one. So they called Kubota only to confirm the new design does exist. He said he was a bit disappointed that they had to find it out via their customer, but nonetheless they expedited the new cover and they were shipping it directly.

Furthermore, at the time I left the message about the cover, I said that I had checked my front axle and no fluid was reading on the stick. I asked if they could send the proper fluid for the axle. He did appologize that it left the dealer that way and said that he couldn't ship liquids in the mail, however, we was sending 2 extra filters for my bota to offset the cost of me having to go to the local parts store and pick up some 80/90W gear lube.

Now I don't know about you, but I think that is EXCELLENT customer service..

I did put a plug about the site and recommended that they perhaps start sponsoring the site as if it wasn't for the site, I wouldn't have ever found them.

Just thought I'd share.....

Was there zero fluid in the front axles? Or just low?

If low, no big deal. But if the unit left the dealer with no oil in the front and you've run it, there will be some wear on the front gears.

If that's the case, I'd want a lifetime warranty saying the dealer would replace any front drive issues for the life of the tractor.

I don't know if these are filled at the factory or at the dealer..........

Thats sounds like they put 100% effort into making you happy which most dealers should do.

By the way, where are they located and their name?

Got my oil filters and my NEW battery cover today and my 2 new oil filters. I can't remember how long the tabs were on my old one, but these don't look like they are that much longer.. HOWEVER, my gosh does it fit like a glove. I can't believe how much better it fits than the other one. Both sides no gaps..

Perhaps, someone was listening to someone complain about the fit.... Lets hope mine isn't a "good" fluke...

BTW, My front axle did have some fluid, rather lightweight looking, but clean nonetheless..

Muscle,

My BX24 front axle fluid was also low. But it comes from the factory filled, such as it is, with SUDT. Gear oil is also allowed, but drain out the SUDT if you want to use it. If you are going to just top it off use SUDT.

The battery cover on my BX24 fits like loose bra, not very perky. After 72 hours now vibrates at specific rpms, regardless of how tight the knob is turned. Currently waiting on the dealer to receive my new fender and seat recall part. For those who got their dealer to replace the battery cover, did they replace it under warranty?

Yes it was warranty...

one of my tabs were cracked on the lower left side, but If you dealer is already ordering parts, I would ask them to get a cover too. Tell them about the redesign and ask to make sure they get it.... My dealer did call Kubota about it..

Good Luck.

When I had my BX24 in the shop for other warranty work, my dealer did agree that the battery cover did not fit well and is going to replace it with the new design. It is cuurently on order with Kubota, under warranty. It will be 2-3 weeks before it arrives.

Thanks to MUSCLFORD for the notice!

After reading his note and others about low oil in the front axle, I checked my BX24 and saw only a narrow strip of fluid in the bottom of the upper case. Basically, the upper case was empty.

After some measuring, I found the oil level was 1.25 inches below the bottom of the dipstick!

I realize there is some settling with use, but that is beyond settling. The set-up person at the dealership didn't check this.

My dealer gave me a gallon of SUDT to do a drain and fill (I have some SUDT at home already).

I don't think there's any damage because of the oil in the lower chambers.

It reinforces what my dad told me; no one is going to be more interested in doing things right on my equipment than me.
