ok, my BX1860 is at the shop... over the weekend I discovered about 1/2 cup of coolant had leaked onto the floor. Best I could tell most of it had dripped down from the top of the water pump where the weep hole is... however, there was coolant around the bottom of the pump and on the radiator hose below... though my guess is it all came down from the weep hole. Coolant was low about 3/4" below low level... so I used the tractor for a few hours (it was a cool day) and the temp gauge never got above normal (about 1/2) nor did it leak any more fluid... as a matter of fact the heat from the motor dried up most of the previously leaked fluid.
Here's my question... the dealer can't get it to repeat the leaking problem. I don't know of anything other than a bad water pump seal that would make it leak out of that weep hole... but then again I'm no expert on such things. If the dealer wants to give it back and tell me there's no problem and he doesn't understand what happened (that's the feeling I'm getting)... should I accept it back and just watch it? Or should I demand that the water pump be replaced?
Thanks for your help and advice in advance...
David
