As everyone knows, you have to disassemble the loader on the older BX's in order to mount the valve on the tractor for other uses. I finally got tired of doing this and mounted the valve to the tractor. The first picture shows the valve assembly mounted to the tractor. I don’t have a welder so I bent up a few pieces of stock and bolted everything together.

Second picture is a side view of the mount. The valve assembly probably sits a couple inches higher than its original position. (Sorry, picture is a little dark)

Next picture shows how I routed the hoses on the valve. I used 3 hoses with 90’s on the end to route the hoses upwards and back down to the 3 connections on the side of the tractor. For the 2 hoses that attach to the bottom of the valve, I used an additional 90. My reason for running the hoses this way was to eliminate having to pass the hoses through the loader upright openings when I reattach the loader. Now I can leave these 3 hoses connected all of the time.
For the other 2 hoses, one comes off straight from the valve, and the other has a 45-degree fitting.

My original intent was to get all the hoses routed around the loader upright in order to eliminate passing hoses through the loader upright. The next picture shows the loader upright in place and I was able to get the necessary clearance, however, it was kind of “tight” and difficult when installing the loader. (Note: I just placed the upright on the tractor because I currently have my front blade installed and didn’t want to undo things to take the picture.)

Since I wasn’t completely happy with the setup, I looked at the BX23 setup and realized that it used the same upright on both sides of the loader. So, I ordered one from tractorsmart and installed it in place of the open frame upright. The next picture shows the new upright in place. Now there is a lot better clearance when installing the loader.

Finally, here’s a picture of the extended hoses on the loader. I didn’t look at the fittings on the loader lines close enough before I ordered the hoses and ended up having the wrong fitting put on the hoses. So, I had to buy adapters to make them work – probably a blessing in disguise because the extra inch or so due to the adapters made the hoses just the right length to hook up to the valve QDs.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with the results.

Great Mod!

Any guesses as to how much the mod cost you?

THKS.

I think the new upright was about $60 and about $100 on hoses and fittings. I probably could have got by without the new upright, but it works a hundred times better with it.
