I'm looking at buying a subsoiler for my mom's BX. Her garden turns into a swimming pool anymore when it rains. Does anyone know what the minimum and maximum lift height of the 3-point hitch at the arms are? I can't seem to find that spec anywhere. Also, does anyone have experience or recommendations on subsoilers with such a small tractor? As the subsoilers don't seem to be that popular, nobody seems to know much about them and whether they'll work on that particular machine. I don't know of her exact model, but I believe it's the previous version of the current generation (with the rounded hood). Thanks in advance!

You are asking a 'fit' question. You need the EXACT model of BX to get a reliable answer. Some BX models have Cat 0 Three Point Hitches, some Cat 1 / Limited, some Cat 1.

Once you have EXACT model, call or e-mail RICK at everytfhingattachments.com He will have answered this Subsoiler "fit" question hundreds of times.

((My guesstimate is that standard Subsoilers are too tall to use with a BX, so that the tine will be deep in the dirt even with the Three Point Hitch raised all the way))

Note that King Kutter make a "RED" Middle-Buster sized for the BX, which come with a subsoiler point, which may meet your need.

Here is a Google search:

Stay out of the garden with the BX when the soil is wet. Sounds like you are suffering the effects of SOIL COMPACTION.

Just an added thought, but I remember years ago reading about a simple modification that gave more lift to the BX 3PH arms. I did it myself for my BX2200 so I could rotate my landscape rake.

I think it was simply drilling new holes in the lift rod lower ends. If I remember right this moved the 3PH arms up about an inch at the point where the lift rods attach.

Granted, this also raises the lower position. This was not an issue for me.

Just a thought. Simple to do and it worked perfectly for me. Hopefully my memory is working perfectly at the moment and I am not misleading you! My BX is 100 yards from here and its cold and I just came in so I can't go and check at the moment... A search of TBN may show this fix. I remember there were some posts addressing the lift issue years ago.

Edit: Well I got curious and tried to find that thread I mentioned, but with no luck. I did find a thread where I mentioned that I thought I drilled the new holes in the lift arms about 1.25 inches higher than the stock ones. For what it is worth...
