I needed to remove my mmm today and I decided to turn the wheels sideways this year because I just don't have the strength or energy to wrestle the deck out from underneath the tractor with brute force anymore. I moved the tractor onto the paved driveway, raised the deck all the way up and then set the wheels on the lowest sideways hole to give maximum clearance, never checking to see if the wheels actually touched the ground when lowered. It dropped with a clunk when I disconnected it and the metal deck was sitting on the pavement under the tractor. I wound up dragging my rolling floor jack from the shed across the lawn to get the deck up off the ground and set the wheels at the highest sideways hole where they now suspended the deck and allowed me to roll it out with no trouble.
Needless to say this is not a mistake I am anxious to repeat which is why I share it with my fellow TBN folks.
