Mowing BX Mower cut is near perfect!

Well, after 9 inches of rain in the last 4 days, my lawn had practically gone to seed. So, for the first time, the mower deck gets used on the BX23. WOW. Even slushing through marsh, the cut and power of this machine is incredible. I replaced a $7000 dedicated Gravely 60 inch ZTR. and a Bobcat, with this machine and while the BX is a little slower to cut...the cut is better. The machine is easy to manuever, easy to drive....more of a pleasure as opposed to the higher stress ZTR. The ZTR had a Kawasaki 25HP V-twin and a 60 inch deck vs. the Diesel Kubota....No bog at all, even in the 8 inch plus grass that seems to grow 2 inches per day right now. The mower is much quieter as well.

The BX23 is an unbelievable mowing machine as well.

I finished mine this AM. It was pretty damp/wet. Looks like carpet (except all the dead spots from my STUPID mistake*).


* My stupid mistake:
Last year we did river rock around the house and as winter set in I bought a 1 gallon jug of weed AND GRASS killer.

This year I went to the shed and grabs what I assumed was weed killer (since why would I buy grass likker... OH YEAH /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif !

I agree! I just got done mowing mine with my new BX2230 with 60 MMM. We have gotten 5 inches of rain in the last 3 days. I have water standing in parts of my yard, the rest of the grass was very wet. With my turf tires, I did no damage with the 1500 lb bX and mower. I mowed between 1/2 and 3/4 throttle and there is no clumping either. The yard looks great, I love this tractor!!!!

By the way, the BX replaced a John Deere lawn tractor with a dedicated mulching deck, so I am very picky about the cut, the BX is 95% as good, even without a mulching kit. It is twice as fun and twice as fast as the other mower. My neighbor still uses the JD mulching deck and our yards both look very good.
