I need some assistance from a BX owner with manuals.
Since I bought my BX2200 back in Feb. (bought it slightly used) it has had a very small hydraulic leak coming from under the deck. I've been just living with the leak since it was so small (1/2 gal. over last 5 months or so). Yesterday, I finally got around to troubleshooting and found that a rubber hydro hose had a pinhole leak (below the deck directly under the left foot). There's no apparent physical damage so I presume this is a manufacturing defect. My neighbor and I attempted to clamp the leak with a piece of rubber and some radiator clamps. That appeared to work, but after putting everything back together, it continued to drip fluid - I suspect the hose has another leak elsewhere or an adjacent hose also has a leak. There are 2 rubber hoses encased in black protective cloth socks that runs from the pump, then under the deck on the left side back to the HST case. Since the leaks only appear after shutting the unit down, and these are rubber hoses, I assume they are the low pressure fluid supply hoses to the pump(?). Could someone give me the part numbers for these two hoses so I can order replacements (hopefully under warranty) and go ahead and replace both?
Also, has anyone else experienced problems with these hoses?
Thanks!

BTW - I've put 70 hrs. on the little BX since I got it in February and I absolutley LOVE it. And, for you folks considering a tractor purchase, DO NOT even consider getting one without a front end loader. As far as I am concerned, it ranks just barely behind having an engine, 4 wheels and a steering wheel in order of importance.

I think those would be the power steering hoses. And wouldn't the repair be under warranty even though you bought it used? Are you sure that it is a pinhole or running along the hose from higher up. Don't use your hand to feel for a pinhole leak, use a piece of cardboard over the place where you think it is spraying out. The high pressure spray could inject oil into your skin. If it isn't under warranty, take the hose to a hydraulic shop and they can probably make one cheaper than buying Kubota.

K2561-41530 is the Power Steering In hose, and K2561-41540 is the Power Steering Out hose. The in hose is like 10 bucks, and the out is like 17. I would definately have the unit repaired under warranty though.

Glad to hear you too are a great fan of your BX, and have fund such high utility in the FEL.

Regarding your question about parts and part numbers, you should go to the following web site:

http://tractorsmart.com/PartsBooksKubota/PartsPageForm.htm

Here, you can get complete Kubota factory parts lists for the tractor, the FEL and the MMM, in Adobe Acrobat format - for FREE.

It's really worth the time and effort to download these. The parts manuals are full of excellent exploded assembly drawings that are invaluable in figuring out what part you're looking at, and how everything fits together.

Thanks gents. The one leak I found was definitely a pin hole and it didn't appear to leak until I shut down the engine.
I suppose it could have been spraying a very fine mist while running and I just didn't catch it (and I do know better than to run my hands along the line while it is running!)
Yes, it should be covered under warranty, but I'm not going to take it to a shop. It's not worth loading her up and sending her away for who-knows-how long just for a simple hose repair. I'll contact my friends at Carver (where I bought the unit) to see if they will send me the parts.
Thanks!

MN Ed,
Thx for reminding me about this web site .... had forgotten the address and have been too busy to do a search.

When I have a choice between sitting in a BX seat with my hands on a steering wheel vs. sitting in a seat with a mouse in my hands....the BX wins every time. Anyway, I drive a mouse 9 hrs. a day....I'm not excited about doing more of it when I get home.

I WILL go to the web site though and download some exploded drawings so I can learn a little more about the little beast.
Thanks!
