Tires bx R4 tires and flat fix / prevention

I was having at least one flat per week on my BX until I took selected advise from the many knowledgeable and experienced people here at TBN and fixed all leaks from the inside, then slimed the tires.

When I trying the plugs, it was working except for needing to add air every week. So, since late January, all tires are holding the proper air pressure.

Over 5 months, over 100 hours, no flats, no slow leaks, and no down time due to tires.

I'm running ag tires on my BX23 and I have at least one plug in 3 of its tires one back one has 4 or 5 folded in half in the same hole and I don't have any problem with that one either. I did slime them after after the last time I plugged them.
Braking the bead will be tough, (I use the loader or hoe).
Patches are easy.
Re seating the bead can be worse than breaking it loose.

Wow. I could never get them to stick. They always seemed to pop out.
Like I said I never had a problem in other tires just my BX tires.
I plan to buy some slime this weekend to have on hand for my new R4s because of the 4 inch honey locust thorns we have back in the woods.
The inside of my ag tires looks like a porcupine in places.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I need to have some Slime on hand and educate myself on tire repair. I have done bicycle tires plenty of times but they always have tubes. I have no experience with the tubeless.

My one rear tire has about 10 plugs in it, some pretty large. They all stayed in pretty well, but I kept having to put air in. Slime fixed that.

Soon after I put the slime in, one of the plugs popped out. The hole it was in was actually a 1/2" long slit between two tread blocks (8-16 turf tire on an ag rim).

I don't know if the slime was the problem or not, but I know that every time the stupid plug would come out was when I was either doing some ground-engaging work (usually box blade), or if the tire slipped some while going uphill in 2WD.

In the end I had to have it patched from the inside, and tubed, as the patches even kept blowing out through this large hole. The tire shop said the first tube they put in pushed the patch out through the hole a few hours after they patched it, so they put two patches over the hole, and it seems to be holding.

I would have just replaced the tire, but turf tires in 8-16 are NLA, I eventually ended up buying wide rims and switching to normal, wide turf tires (found wheels and tires on ebay).

I will definately be getting tires since my home is new construction and there were large trash piles with plenty of nails in the areas where I will be working. I will be amazed if I dont get several flats.

Been there, done that (3 in one day). You can patch em (inside) over and over, then start using an inner tube...

Foam is expensive, heavy and does modify your ride a little, but it really, really works. Slime is useless.

The fix for a lot of stray nails is a BIG magnet. Roofers use them all the time maybe you could rent one. We tore down an old building, picked up all the nails we could see, then went over the ground with a magnet. Easily filled a 5 gallon bucket!

I use th victor or monkey grip truck plugs they are real long I cut them in half
Ream hole with the file tool this is very important!
Fold plug in half and put in tool slobber it up with tire patch glue push tool and plug in hole press it in till only 1/4" is showing of the plug pull tool back out holding plug in with your fingers.
Repeat as with more plugs till you cant get one in.
plugs might pull out 1/2" as you add more that isn't any problem.
then try and get the glue off your fingers and tools.

That is a fantastic idea. I contracted this home myself so while I got lots of positives, I get all the cleanup as well. Everything has a cost I suppose.
I will definately check on a magnet.
