The paint doesn't match!?! Forget it! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Thanks for posting, Junkman. Looks like the BX series is making quite a splash out there.

That grapple will keep one in the seat an awful lot more!

OK, I'll be the test guy for the grapple for the Kubota Grand L series tractors (72"), go ahead and send me one to evaluate. I have lots of brush and rock to pick up. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is one of the grapple open....

Now I've had nightmares the past two nights of Junkman coming towards me with his grapple snapping open and shut! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

JM,

It appears to me that you have removed the toothbar on your bucket when you installed the grapple. Is that right? If so, why?

I take the tooth bar on and off regularly. Many times, I will cut grass without removing the bucket, but the tooth bar will do a lot of damage quickly, so off it comes. I actually like using the tooth bar and the grapple together, but sometimes it isn't practical. The pictures that I posted were for communication purposes with the inventor, so the tooth bar would add another dimension to the grapple that might not apply to all users. For that reason, I removed it during the installation and testing process. I wanted to test the unit the way many people will be using it. When working on the grass, the tooth bar can do damage quickly, so I don't use it then either. If I am picking rocks in the wooded part of the property, I use the tooth bar and grapple. The tooth bar does make it easier to pick up large rocks, but it isn't a necessity.

Spoke to the designer / inventor today and progress is being made on adapting this design to other tractors with similar sized buckets. It is going to be a adapter that will accommodate a wide range of sizes. I haven't seen this yet, but he did explain how it works. It is a one time adjustment to the grapple width during installation on the bucket. It is as easy as tightening two set screws. After that initial setting, the grapple can be removed or installed in a matter of a minute or so. I will post any further information that I receive as it becomes available... Junk....

Junk, do you have a picture of how much is left on the bucket when the grapple is rmoved?

Is that a 50 inch bucket on your loader? How much do you think that rock weighs? I am impressed!
