I got my BX with nearly 300 hours, and changed all of the fluids and filters for motor oil and hydraulic oil. I somehow have not got a service manual yet (I'm slipping!) and want to know what the fluid change intervals are for motor and hydraulic as I assume I am close to due.Can anyone tell me what the service manual suggests? Thanks in advance.

300 hours is when most of the fluids are to be changed, I just completed my 300 hour service and did Hydraulic oil and filter, engine oil and filter, fuel filters (2), and the front end fluid also. So if you've done that, then you are good for at least another 100 hours or so before the engine oil is to be changed I think.

Alright, I got 512 hours on the ticker so far so I'll figure on around 600 hours doing it all again. Thank you!!!!
PS. I didn't do the front axle last time, so is that hydraulic fluid too?

The manual for my BX24 calls for either 80-90 weight gear oil or Super UDT in the front axle. Lists the capacity as 5 quarts. The old oil is slow to drain so plan on letting it sit for a while with all the plugs out. Re-fill it until it shows full, run the machine for a little while and then re-check the level. It will drop a little when you run it.

I have the super UDT in the front axle. Less containers to keep around

Engine oil and filter at 100 hrs.
Transmission and filter at 300 hrs

Air filter every 300 if not dirty.
Every 100 if dirty conditions.

Air inlet hose check and possibly replace every 2 years

BX23 with 1k+ hrs

Matt.

When I got my BX23 with 285 hours both ends of the front axle had small leaks. I changed all the fluids at 295 hours because the weather outside was lousey and I wanted to be ready to go when the wx improved. Because I didn't yet have my manuals I didn't change the fluid in the front axle. I didn't want to change it and a week later tear apart the front axle to change the seals. When I got my manuals I found out that I could use 80-90 weight gear oil in the front axle and decided to give that a try. No more leaks. The manual says to fill it and use it for about 10 minutes and then recheck it. Mine only took about half the required quantity and even after ten minutes it didn't take much more. After about an hour it took the rest of the stated quantity.
